Nubra Valley
150 km from Leh Nubra Valley is located in the distance. Nubra means the city of flowers!
The altitude is about 10,000 feet above sea level. It can be reached from Leh via Khardung Pass. Khardung is famous as the highest road in the world. This road is built at an altitude of 18380 feet.
In this place, which has maximum Buddhist population, one can see red-bud apple and walnut trees from July to September.
Diskit city is an important city in Nubra. Almost all government wastes are here. Here you get a chance to ride on the back of a two-humped camel. Another highlight of Diskit is the 32 meter tall Buddha statue. There is a prayer temple and a huge drum can be seen there. It is from here that one can experience a panoramic and captivating view of the entire Nubra Valley.
The uniqueness of this place is that many wonders can be seen here. Like the world’s only high-altitude cold climate desert Hundar can be seen here as well as the Shiok River flowing nearby despite being a desert, two-humped camels can be seen here and experience both desert and snow in one place.
